OFFICE STATUS DURING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK
As all of you are aware, the COVID-19 outbreak has become a serious problem in our country and thus has impelled us to make some drastic changes to our delivery of dental services moving forward. We have been in constant contact with health agencies both nationally and locally and are trying to follow recommended guidelines in order to not be part of the problem but instead help stem the spread of this dangerous virus, especially to the more at risk members of our community. With that in mind, we are currently cancelling all non-urgent or emergency care and rescheduling routine appointments. We do not know how long this measure will be in affect but the medical experts who advise us are thinking this pandemic will likely be around for at least three months and that is the time frame we are currently working with, so patients with conditions that may not be able to wait that long before becoming more severe will be seen. We also plan to be open at least part time to see emergency patients and if you experience pain, swelling or feel you have a true dental emergency, please call the office and, if we are not in at that time, you will be directed to call Dr. Zlock to make arrangements to be seen. Contact info will be listed below on this notice as well.
The hope is that, by everyone taking these and similar measures, we can at least reduce significantly the spread of this virus, lessen the load on the local medical/hospital community, conserve needed personal protection equipment that is in short supply, and maybe we can reduce the number of people in our area that get very sick requiring hospitalization and also reduce death in our at risk population. Make no bones about it, this virus is coming and we fully expect the local numbers to ramp up in the coming days and weeks so we strongly recommend that folks take this seriously, take all precautions that are being recommended regarding social distancing, sheltering in place for at risk folks and monitoring your own and families health and contact your health care provider if you are showing symptoms. If we all work together on this, we may be able to at least lessen the impact in our area. Below is a phone number for the Missoula County health department’s hot line for you to call with questions about what to do if you show symptoms. We will try to keep you updated about our office status as we move forward and feel free to call us with questions or concerns. Stay safe and healthy out there, keep yourself informed, protect your loved ones and we will all get through this.
